Completed responsive Webflow build

Modernizing a defense contractor's web presence without losing its credibility

The site had outgrown itself. As DWT won larger and more complex contracts, the number of product lines and capability pages grew faster than the site's structure could absorb. Navigation had become inconsistent, older pages were abandoned rather than updated, and the site no longer reflected the scale of the company behind it.

DEVELOPER

Rebuilding the navigation from the ground up

I mapped the existing site and compared its structure with competitors to identify patterns visitors already understood. I then adapted those conventions to how DWT organizes its work—by capability, product line, and contract type. The result balances familiarity for first-time visitors with DWT’s own internal logic.

One system, many kinds of content

Once the structure was set, I built page templates that could absorb new products without introducing new patterns. Color and interaction distinguish each content category, so products and capabilities read as related but distinct — visitors learn the system once and reuse it everywhere.

A custom careers portal built to scale

DWT's hiring needs were outgrowing generic job board listings. I designed and built a dedicated careers portal that presents open roles by department and employment type, with a simpler application flow than the company's previous third-party listing service.

Editorial Modernism in Industrial Technology

The redesign focused on creating a scalable experience that could grow alongside the company. Drawing inspiration from brutalism and minimalism, interactions and flourishes were kept subtle and purposeful. Typography, spacing, and color establish consistency across the site without competing with intentional photography.

Extending the identity through motion

I animated DWT’s existing monogram as a transition device for branded digital moments. The motion study appears in the case-study opener and remains available for future phases of the website.

Responsive Design

The layouts were designed responsively from the start. Rather than shrinking desktop pages, content hierarchy and spacing were reconsidered for smaller screens to preserve readability.

A foundation built to evolve

The final redesign brought Design West Technologies’ site into one responsive system. I created a foundation that can expand as the company adds new programs and content.
